5 Tips for Throwing Awesome Pre-drinks

Having a night out? You might be thinking about pre-drinks and what you should get from the bottle shop on the way home from work. If you’re the one hosting the pre-drinks, this means you’ll need some tips on how to make sure you’re all ready to go out at the right time, and with the right level of a buzz on.

Because while pre-drinks might seem like something you do before the evening takes place, they’re as important as where you go when you leave the house. Play it wrong and you’re too wasted to enjoy your night and your evening is over before it even began. Get it just right, however, and you’ll have a great night where everything just falls into place.

And while yes, you could just go and get a slab and be done with it, there are a whole bunch of other ways you can make your pre-drinks awesome, so read on to make your pre-drinks the best ever.

When you’re ready to get the party started, make sure you pick Cabaret Club as your first (or last) stop of the evening. We have private rooms, all the drinks and gorgeous women you could hope for to keep the party going all night long.

1. WHEN SHOULD YOU START?

One of the key things about throwing a pre-drinks party at your house is to time it right. You don’t want to start too early and have people way too drunk before you’re ready to go out – and you don’t want to start too late. The best way to do it is to work backwards and figure out what time you want to be arriving at the party/club/event.

You’ll want to include about two and a half to three hours of pre-drinks in total, and make sure you order the maxi taxis to arrive at a set time, so it clears everyone out. Otherwise, you’ll have a bunch of stragglers, and everyone won’t arrive at the same time. Bad move. You need to move as a pack, so you keep that cohesive party feeling going!

2. WHO SHOULD YOU INVITE?

Knowing who to invite is as simple as knowing who NOT to invite. For example, do not invite the guy or girl who always goes too hard too soon and throws up. Do not invite the guy who steals beer from everyone else and doesn’t bring any of their own. Don’t invite the girl who always brings her boyfriend (who is a dickhead). Don’t invite dickheads. Don’t invite people who fight. Don’t invite people who always get wasted and get denied entry to bars.

Now, just invite your mates and have a good time!

3. WHAT SHOULD YOU LISTEN TO?

Keeping the good times going is important at your pre-drinks. Always make sure you have a Spotify Premium account or set up a great playlist on iTunes so that there are no interruptions. You should aim for a mix of cheesy 80s and 90s stuff and throw some bangers in there as well. You want to aim for a fun and frisky vibe without getting people too riled up. Spotify have excellent playlists – so just scour those, add some of your own special blend and go from there.

4. WHAT SHOULD YOU DRINK?

Ah, this is a big one. Do you get a slab and risk being bloated and feeling off all night, or do you go for a bottle of spirits and risk writing yourself off way too soon? Decisions, decisions. Make sure that whatever you do, drink plenty of water before you leave the house (we don’t want to sound like your mum, but you know it helps) and try and eat something good. Actually, speaking of food…

5. WHAT SHOULD YOU EAT?

Put some chips out, get some dips and bread if you’re feeling fancy but for goodness’ sake don’t put anything with garlic or onion out – you don’t want people to be breathing their dinner on everyone they try to pick up tonight.

We hope these have been some helpful tips for your next night out – and make sure you put Cabaret Club on your list for your next evening.
