Five Grooming Tips for Men that are Guaranteed to Impress Her

Are you a can of Lynx and a quick rinse with the mouthwash kinda guy, or are you the type who is more inclined to hog the mirror for an hour making sure your beard is perfect? Where once male grooming was the subject of scorn (Metro-sexuals, anyone?) these days it’s far more acceptable – even expected – for men to take good care of their skin, hair, grooming and body.

While we know that a great deal of personal satisfaction arises from taking care of yourself, the fact is that women appreciate a man who puts in some effort. We wanted to outline some of our top tips for male grooming – without taking away from your rugged masculinity – so that next time you’re out on the town you’ll be beating the ladies off (instead of yourself 😉)…

Get a good haircut

A well-groomed man knows that style starts from the haircut and beard design you’ve got going on. We recommend that step one on your path to male grooming is a great haircut. There are a whole host of incredible barbers and styling salons popping up all over the place – with many offering a beer with your cut.

So, if you’re the kind of guy who just gets your mum to have a crack at your hair with the clippers, it might be time to graduate to the barber’s chair. We promise you; it’ll be worth it. Just on that, make sure you know what kinds of hair products will work best for you – whether you’ve got thick hair or are thinning a bit – your barber will be able to tell you what you need.

Get a good signature scent

Sex PantherYou want to make sure that you’re not channelling Sex Panther (it stings the nostrils) but also that you’re not too subtle.

You want to find a scent that is a complementary part of your overall outfit and style. You want to have two different scents – one lighter one for daytime, and another heavier more masculine scent for night-time. It might be a good idea to stop into your local department store and get some help trying on a few different types. Remember that with fragrances (as with anything) you get what you pay for, so try to steer away from the cheaper end of the scale. But if you are budget conscious, Chemist Warehouse are always selling cheaper fragrances at really cut down prices, so you can always choose the one you like and then buy it for a fraction of the price…

Keep oral hygiene at the top of your to-do list

Your teeth and smile are such a big part of your attractiveness to women; it’s vital that you are taking care of both. Invest in a good quality toothbrush – an electric one if you can – and then ensure you are brushing your teeth twice a day. And look if you can floss too, that would be great.

Fresh breath is an absolute must for any self-respecting man out on the town, so ensure that not only do you brush but use some mouthwash and carry some gum or mints with you to avoid beer breath when you’re out on the town. The girls at Cabaret love nothing LESS than a guy with dank breath – so come one fellas, do yourself a favour and make your mouth a pleasant place to be around!

Sort out the manscaping

Yep, trimming your pubes is not only desired, it’s required. We’re not talking about booking in a visit to the beautician – we’re just talking about some trimming and general tidying! It makes things not only look tidier, but also makes a, ahem, bigger impact. If you know what we mean… You don’t need to clog up your face razor with this job, and in fact there are some trimmers on the market which are specifically designed to tackle this area. Just nip down to your local chemist or shaver speciality shop and they’ll be able to help you out.

Work out your best beard shape

Having the right beard shape for your face is important – which is why it’s vital that you take some time working out what kind of beard style you want to rock. If a full beard is your best self, then go for it. Feeling the moustache? Get it done! The point is you need to spend some time in the mirror figuring it out.

We hope these tips have given you some ideas about how to take care of yourself — we know they’re basic, but you would be surprised how many guys we see walking around without taking care of these basic things! So, go on fellas, put a bit of effort in and see just how lucky you get 😉

When you’re up for a great night out make sure you put Cabaret Club at the top of your list. We would love to see you super soon in the front row or in one of our private booths.
